چکیده

Abstract Background Coronary CT (CCT) is one of the most used noninvasive imaging for detection coronary artery disease (CAD) in US, especially patients with intermediate CAD risk. European Society Cardiology also recommends risk stratifications using angiography suspected (level IB). Purpose purpose study was to evaluate a population that underwent CCT screening, how many had significant lesions and which cardiovascular (CV) factors were involved. Methods 228 (37% female, 63,34±9.9 years) no previous events 64,5% symptoms (angor, dyspnea), enrolled. All cardiological evaluation CV (age, sex, hypertension, early familiarity CAD, dyslipidemia, smoke, obesity, diabetes, chronic kidney failure, vascular atherosclerosis) (Ca scoring angiography), performed by 128-slices system analyzed single operator over 3 years experience. considered positive if CAD-RADS ≥ 4A. Results 60 (26,3%) hospitalized angiography. The positivity correlated significantly sex (p<0.001), hypertension (p= 0.006) Ca Score but did not correlate other (dyslipidemia, age, or (Table.1). Conclusions family history together seem be determine presence ischemic heart disease, more than common factors. possibility performing all could effectively prevent onset events. Table.1

Aspirin as Primary Prevention of Acute Coronary Heart Disease Events

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE Aspirin for primary prophylaxis is controversial. This study evaluated associations between prophylactic aspirin use and incident acute coronary heart disease (CHD) events. METHODS AND RESULTS The Reasons for Geographic and Racial Differences in Stroke (REGARDS) Study was accessed for aspirin use examining black and white hazards for incident CHD, for men and women, each ...

Aortic valve calcium independently predicts coronary and cardiovascular events in a primary prevention population.

OBJECTIVES This study sought to test whether aortic valve calcium (AVC) is independently associated with coronary and cardiovascular events in a primary-prevention population. BACKGROUND Aortic sclerosis is associated with increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality among the elderly, but the mechanisms underlying this association remain controversial. Also, it is unknown whether this as...

Primary prevention of coronary artery disease.

The development and progression of atherosclerosis is an intricate inflammatory process dependent on intimal entry of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. Although myriad genetic and environmental factors modulate this process, the centrality of LDL cholesterol to the physiology of plaque genesis, progression, and instability leads to the notion that reducing serum LDL cholesterol might b...

Coronary CT angiography in percutaneous coronary intervention

Technical advances have enabled multidetector CT to become the non-invasive modality of choice for coronary imaging. Recent clinical literature has supported the power of CCTA using 64-slice multidector CT scanners in the detection and ruling out of significant (> 50%) coronary artery disease, with an average negative predictive value of 98% on a per-patient basis [6-8]. With the capability of ...
